November comes

The time change brings us to an early sunset here on the west coast, depriving us of two hours of natural light. Without the sun it forces us to become a little bit more creative as to how we use the light. My first day working here at Hicks Ranch I learned a lot about natural light. About how to mood light, window light, the beauty of back lighting and a lot more tricks on just how to work with the beauty of natural light. Now that we lose the sun two hours earlier we are forced to use more of our studio lights, keno Flo, hot light, strobes, although with the Canon 5d mark ii our ISO can be shot in very slow light. Here are some photos with natural light compared to studio lights, which with our magic touch can make our studio light look very arty.
