Undying Love

(Victoria Valmer in the morning)

I’m pretty sure there’s only one reason why I’m still doing what I do and basically loving every minute of it.

(Sandra Shine always divine)

As an outside observer you might think it’s because of the girls I shoot. NOT!

The true secret to my enduring love of my job is simple. I flat out love photography and love pointing my camera at natures most beautiful things. When I was nineteen years old I bought my first camera and like Steve Martin said in The Jerk, “I found my special purpose.”

(the photo above depicts that rare opportunity of combining my two favorite things)

Sure, I always did (and always will till the day I frickin die) appreciate the beauty of beautiful girls but the bottom line is I just love expressing my view of the world through a viewfinder. Essentially I ended up shooting naked women because it was one area of the photography business without constraint—the rules and regulations that so govern the commercial world of photography and often disallow the true artist to emerge naturally.

My very first images were of nature. I can remember picking up my initial roll of processed slide film at the grocery store back in Denver, Colorado and the feeling of excitement that overcame my soul--it's a feeling that's never stopped for me.

This morning before coming to work I grabbed my camera to take a quick shot of our new kittens and before I knew it I was like an intoxicated alcoholic drowning at the bar only it was in my back yard seeing the world through my biggest vice—my viewfinder.

Here’s a few shots from this morning--the beauty of nature comes in many packages and I'm still so grateful to be focusing on them.

Try and make your weekend Joyful and Playful
