Across the Hill

I wrote last month about meeting a neighbor who told me a story about having to position his auto on the soft slope of the mountain side in order to improve his wireless signal. And the reason he did this in the first place was to get a look at one of our updates featuring a former school mate, Dakota Rae.

Well yesterday afternoon we took him up on his offer to come on up to his ranch and shoot. Not only did he help me unload the gear from my pick-up, he for some reason offered to hand hold a three foot by six foot silk in the air above our model, Meggan Mallone. “No charge”, he said, “I just love to help”. And help he did for the next three hours of our afternoon.

It no longer surprises me, this power that women hold over us men. When I reminded our neighbor about “all the work” he had mentioned that he “had to do”, his reply was, “oh, I can do it tomorrow”. I think we introduced him to one more reason to drive his car to the edge.
