Small World True Story

10:30 PM

This is the latest that I have ever entered my daily word into our system’s network. Todd, the great manager that he is has probably triple checked by now to see if a “word” had been posted to greet all our members come this Wednesday morning and hopefully isn’t writing one for me. I’ll check those voice mails later.

So this is what happened. I sat down at the computer at 6 PM to begin writing and just went blank. Stephen had been mentioning earlier that I should take a bike ride down the canyon road before the sun set and I decided that it might be a great way to clear my head. This old trail through the canyon leads past a hidden ranch that has been on the market for quite some time and I thought I might further investigate. The entrance to the ranch leads to an ever changing river and a missing bridge. While I was on the near bank trying to decide what to do, two guys in their early twenties pulled up on the opposite bank. They were hospitality plus and invited me to come across via a twenty-five foot long bridge made of a combination of 8 x 8’s, large rocks, and a metal crate.

To make a very long story short, after showing me the property, they invited me to join them in a beer and one of them began telling me this story about driving his two wheel drive car down this knarly hillside. I asked why and he said that in the middle of the hill he found he got his best wireless internet connection and he wanted to check out some website featuring a girl he went to high school with. When I mentioned that I worked for digitaldesire.com he froze—smiled and said, “dude---that was the site”.

I kid you not. Small world true story. More to come and possibly a set or two at this crazy location.

Here are a couple shots of my new friends missing classmate. Dakota Rae
